TOP 5 most beautiful fish of the Black sea

31 October international Black sea day. We decided to make a selection of the most beautiful of its inhabitants.

The brightest fish of the Black sea – trooper (Tripterygion tripteronotus). Very rare and beautiful fish. Trooper lives on hard bottoms covered with algae at shallow depths of 5-10 meters, but in places with insufficient lighting. Can reach up to 8 cm in length.

The next contender for the most beautiful black sea fish — eyed the greenfinch (Symphodus ocellatus). Also called the mottled wrasse, or rule. Reach a maximum length of 14 cm, Dwell at depths of 1-30 meters. They are kept in small flocks among the rocks and thickets of aquatic plants. In the warm season these fish build nests from scraps of algae over pits dug in the ground, or twist the nest-tunnel, weaving neighbouring branches. Making the nest, the male sweeps — dancing — in front of him, calling the female.

There in the Black sea and one tropical fish, and it is called the fish-swallow (Chromis chromis) is very much the tail looks like the tail of a swallow. Young up to 5 cm long, glowing blue. At the bottom of the fish-swallows build nests out of grass and the eggs in them is strictly guarded by the males. For winter heat-loving “swallows” “fly away” in the depths of the sea, where they will not disturb holiday storms.

Another great black sea of the depths — Spicara smaris . This cute fish has many names: smarita, spicara, manola, Ryzhik, Bobyr, rygy perch (yellow perch). It changes color as easily as Paul: as a child, 1-2 year old, all claridy females, and then, in 2 years, they turn into males. Therefore, males are always larger, as simply older (their length is 15-25cm). Females are reddish and males are a wonderful blue color, sometimes verging on a dazzling blue, with beautiful fluorescent strips. Flocks of smarin can be found, as well as “swallows”, no deeper than 10-12 meters.

Sometimes the bushes of Cystoseira you can find amazing fish — seahorses (Hippocampus hippocampus). Their tail fin is transformed into a prehensile tail, which they entwine the leaves of sea grass or branches of the algae, and the movement is rapidly fluttering a dorsal fin, so the skates swim very slowly and is standing in water vertically.

Black sea sea horses beautifully cared for females it happens in the still cool spring water — two males, fluttering dorsal fins to slowly swim around the female, weaving, and raspleta tails, hugging her cheeks, pushing and flying, approaching and colliding again… Mesmerizing courtship dance seahorses may last a week. Males demonstrate female sprawling brood of the bag and she chooses — who is better. In the bag of one of the contenders, she, eventually, will lay eggs and male fertilize, will carry it until it hatches, a tiny skates. The same occurs in relatives of sea horses sea eagle: and we — the males become pregnant!
